Samir Nasri has described his half-a-season move to the English Premier League and specifically West Ham United as the ‘best job in the world.'

The 31-year-old impressed the West Ham United hierarchy after weeks of training with the London-based club and has been handed a contract until the end of the season which includes the option for an extension.

The move marks a return to the English top flight for the former Arsenal player who also played under current West Ham United manager, Manuel Pellegrini, at Manchester City.

The Frenchman has been handed the club’s number 18 shirt, and he tells the club’s website he is excited to return to the Premier League and a club that has the ambition to become one of the biggest in the world.

“Coming back to the most competitive league in the world, with a team full of ambition with a manager that I know. It's the best job in the world, and I'm really excited about it.”

“You choose a club and a project because of the ambition, and I think that West Ham has everything to be one of the biggest clubs in London.”

“I mean, 60,000 people every game at home. We play at the Olympic Stadium. The training ground is there and you have owners who want to invest and have a good team. Everything is there to be doing great things.”

Samir Nasri, who spent three seasons at Arsenal between 2008 and 2011 won a Premier League title each under Roberto Mancini in the 2011/12 season and Manuel Pellegrini in the 2013/14 season at Manchester City.

The offensive player was given a year-long ban for doping offences at former club Antalyaspor in Turkey.
