UEFA To Introduce VAR In Champions League.

The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) is considering the introduction of Video Assistant Referee (VAR) in the Champions League.

The VAR, which is an assistant referee who reviews referees decisions with the use of video footage, was included in football laws in 2018.

The technology was used in the Russia 2018 World Cup and top-flight leagues like Italy's Serie A, Spain's La Liga and Germany's Bundesliga are using the novelty.

The UEFA Champions League is yet to use the VAR, but President, Aleksander Ceferin, has hinted that the body will discuss a referee's report to decide when to introduce it.

"I expect the report in a week or so and then we will see when we can implement it. At the latest, next season."

The development has been accepted by the president of the European Club Association, Andrea Agnelli, who has expressed his delight for it.

"We are delighted as clubs for that and we thank UEFA for the work they've been putting together."
