Martial Signs Long Term Deal With United

By Joshua Waters

Anthony Martial has committed his future to Manchester United after extending his contract with the Old Trafford club for another five years.

The Red Devils secured the services of the former Monaco man in 2015 with a renewable five-and-a-half-year deal.

The French player is expected to earn £200,000 a week with his contract extension.

Martial has made 18 Premier League appearances for the Red Devils this season and scored eight goals, having played 25 games and scored 10 times in all competitions this term.

Martial arrived at Manchester United over a fee of £36 million, which reportedly rose to £58 million.

Thursday's is the second time the Red Devils are triggering the contract renewal clause in their deal with Martial after renewing the latter's stay for a-year-and-a-half in December last year.

The development ended speculations over the player who had become a subject of transfer rumours in the media.

Martial after signing the new deal said: “I am loving my time at this club. From the day I joined I have been made to feel part of the United family and I have been incredibly humbled and overwhelmed by the warmth and love of our fans, who continue to amaze me with their support.

“I would like to thank Ole and his coaching staff for their belief in me and for helping me to take my game to the next level. This club is all about winning trophies and I am sure the next piece of silverware is not that far away.”
