Madrid Press For Pochettino Services

Real Madrid are still keen on Mauricio Pochettino, despite the Tottenham Hotspurs manager dragging his feet over the possibility of taking over Los Blancos.

Real Madrid sacked Julen Lopetegui last Monday after a poor start to the season, and reports in Spain suggest the European Champions desire to hand over the job to Pochettino.

The Spanish giants wanted the Spurs manager before the appointment of Lopetegui in June this year, but their efforts stalled as the Argentine trainer was not keen on the move.

Real Madrid contacted Pochettino after sacking Lopetegui, but he once again, showed little interest, forcing the Bernabeu outfit to consider other options.

Former Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte, came close to landing the job, but negotiations collapsed last week, and Madrid have relaunched their interest in Pochettino who also is proving indifferent.

News in Spain claim that Madrid are still willing to double their efforts for Pochetinno by improving on the bid presented to the former Espanyol centre-back.

Madrid will have to cough out a massive compensation to Spurs to land the services of the 42-year-old Argentine which will cost them £8.5m-a-year according to the sun.
