Barcelona striker Luis Suarez has revealed that he felt like disappearing from the world after his side lost to Liverpool.

Liverpool defeated Barcelona 4-0 in the Champions League semi-final second leg at Anfield to book a place in the final.

Having won 3-0 in the first leg at Camp Nou, Barcelona failed to progress to the next stage as Liverpool pulled a remarkable comeback to eliminate the Spanish champions.

The defeat brought a shock to the Barcelona side and Suarez who scored in the first leg has disclosed the aftermath of the game was difficult for him to cope with.

"The days after back in Barcelona were the worst moments of my life and career along with the 2014 World Cup, I wanted to disappear from the world."

"I didn't want to take my children to school, everyone could see I was in a very bad way.

“I had days I didn't want to do anything, they were very difficult moments.

"I didn't see it because we are Barcelona and we thought we'd have two or three chances to score, but we became nervous, we gave stupid passes away, we didn't show the right attitude.”

Liverpool after defeating Barcelona emerged as champions of the competition as they claimed their sixth European crown with a 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur with goals from Mohamed Salah and Divock Origi.

The nightmare of the game followed up with Barcelona as they suffered another defeat to Valencia in the Copa del Rey final.
