Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has been rewarded for his impressive performances in the Premier League with a spot in the 2019 Guinness world records.

His recognition comes after he became the fastest player to reach a hundred assists in the history of the English Premier League.

Fabregas reached the landmark when he assisted Willian to score in Chelsea’s 4-2 win over Stoke City in December 2016.

"I’m not the fastest, I'm not the strongest, I'm not the most flexible, I don’t jump high," he said with a smile.

"But to achieve this record in my career is one of the proudest things in my job because it is my job and I did it well."

Former Manchester United winger Ryan Giggs holds the record for most assists in Premier League history with 162.

It took the current Wales coach 367 games to reach 100 assists, and Fabregas has reached the landmark in just 293 games,74 games fewer than Giggs.

Fabregas’ most famous assist came in the 2010 World Cup final when his defense-splitting pass set up Andres Iniesta for the winning goal.

Fabregas credits his ability to pick up his teammates to understudying the likes of Lionel Messi, Patrick Viera and Dennis Bergkamp in his formative years.

"In the middle of training, I’d just have my mouth open. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. The first touches of Dennis Bergkamp, the finishing of Thierry Henry, the presence of Patrick Vieira, I was very fortunate.”
