Brendan Rodgers Insists Leicester Not Ready To Offload Maguire

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has disclosed the Foxes are not in the mood to let go of their highly rated centre-back Harry Maguire.

The England defender is said to be angling for the move he sees to be a dream come true, but Leicester have refused to be bullied into selling him below their valuation of £80 million.

Reports are that, the Red Devils are reluctant to cough out such an amount for the 26-year-old wantaway defender.

And Rodgers has stressed the club will no longer part ways with the player.

“We’re very relaxed,” Rodgers said. “The clubs that have spoken to Leicester have not met any valuation that the club has put on him, so at this moment in time he’s very much a Leicester player, and you can see where his concentration is, and it’s very much here.

"That’s not really for me to say.

“I’m quite relaxed. It’s all ‘what if?’ At this moment in time there’s nothing there that is going to tempt the club at all. The club don’t need to sell, the club don’t want to sell.”

“He’s been absolutely great,” Rodgers added. “There’s obviously been a lot of speculation, if you pick up the media there’s a different story about Harry every day, but thankfully he’s very focused on his work.

“You can see he is working on his fitness as well as his game. It was a great header from Harry, a good 60 minutes from him, so he’s working very well."

Leicester City signed Maguire from Hull City in 2017 for an initial fee of £12 million which raised to £17 million with add-ons, signing a five-year contract with the King Power Stadium outfit.
